Learning Objectives

This course provides essential training for water treatment personnel on responding to adverse water quality incidents (AWQIs). Participants will gain a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, incident response protocols, and corrective actions to protect public health and maintain water quality standards.

Agenda

Overview of drinking water legislation and the Safe Drinking Water Act
Definitions and types of adverse water quality incidents (AWQIs)
Steps for reporting, notification, and documentation of AWQIs
Corrective actions for microbial contamination, low disinfectant residuals, and other AWQIs
Interaction with local Health Units and MECP during incident response
